Is Energy Healing For Christians?
This is a question that many Christian’s wrestle with when exploring alternative healing methods such as chiropractic, homeopathic, acupuncture and energy healing. I will take the next few paragraphs to highlight some of my beliefs on how energy healing CAN be for Christians. If you still do not feel that this is something to partake in, then listen to God’s Spirit inside of you! Ultimately, we need to recognize the voice of our Good Shepherd and trust that He will lead and guide us.
Do you believe that God wants you well? Jesus healed every person that came to Him that asked for healing. If you are struggling with this concept, I encourage you to read some of Kenneth Hagan or Andrew Wommack teachings on the Bible and healing. If you believe that you have a right to be healthy and whole, that truth alone can shift your body into a healing frenzy! If you believe that you deserve to be sick…then that will block any attempts at healing.
“Energy”is not found in the Bible. The Bible is a textbook on energy—just look at how creation began. While today’s translations do not use the word energy, the original Aramaic language used the word energy (or power) to describe the Holy Spirit and other truths in the New Testament. If we are concerned about vocabulary, we can also say that Electricity was not in the Bible either. Maybe we should all turn off our lights and air condition because it may not be Biblical.
Energy was created by New Agers or Eastern religions. Energy, like electricity has been around since God said, “Light Be”. The laws were established when God created Eden. It has taken men centuries to discover how to use electricity—and we still probably have a lot to learn. Energy is what keeps our planet together and our bodies intact. Just because a certain group of people uses words (like chakras or energy) does not mean that they have created anything. They may have discovered it and found useful ways to harness it. Imagine if Christians could have a reputation for being the discoverers of truth!
How can I tell if it’s from God or Satan? Electricity is neither good or bad, it is just a created law. It can be used to shock and kill someone, or it can warm a house to prevent people from freezing to death. Energy…is just energy and not good or bad. Satan will often take what God has created and pervert it. The enemy will use witchcraft to try to deceive people and lead them down wrong paths in using energy. He does not want God’s prized creation to recognize that they are supposed to be healed and whole! If someone is worried about being a Christian and being involved with energy healing, I remind them to look at the fruit! Are people being set free and healed…and moving closer to Christ? The enemy would love to keep everyone defeated, sick and imprisoned by fear.
Lastly, be careful who you allow to work on you. The Bible warns that we should be wise and not just accept everything that is presented before us. Spend time talking with other Christians and listen to the Holy Spirit. Be confident that He will guide you into ALL Truth!
